Registration & Accommodation
All participants must submit a completed registration form. Hotel accommodation at reduced rates is offered to participants at the Hotel Spa Porta Maris and the Hotel Suites del Mar.

Visa Requirements
Participants are advised to apply early for their visas, should they require one to come to Spain. Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. We suggest you contact your local Spanish Consulate for official instructions on the specific visa regulations and application procedures that may apply to you. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required. A valid passport is required for entry into Spain. European Union residents have separate requirements.
Letter of Invitation
Official letters of invitation designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries will be sent upon request. It must be understood that such letters do not represent a commitment on the part of the AOPT 2013 Organizing Committee to provide any financial assistance. If you require such a letter, please apply to the Meeting Secretariat at aopt20132umh.es and provide your full name and address details with your request.
Liability and Personal Insurance
The AOPT 2013 Organisers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants and accompanying persons. Participants are recommended to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip in Alicante.
Banking, Exchange and Credit Cards
The official currency in Spain is the Euro (€). Official banking hours in Alicante are generally Monday to Friday from 08:30 am to 14:30.
Most bank branches in Alicante exchange traveller’s cheque, Euro cheques and foreign currency. Banks offer similar exchange rates as the Bureaux de Change, and the commissions are usually lower.
Automated cash dispensers are located outside most banks and in selected hotels, and cash can be withdrawn 24 hours a day. All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.
Opening Hours of Places of Interest
Museums, art galleries, Santa Barbara castle are open from Tuesday until Sunday 10:00 to 19:00 (Most museums close on Mondays).
Opening Hours of Shops
Shops are generally open from 10:00 until 20:30 Monday to Saturdays.
